Bomb Squad Called to House

The bomb squad was called to an area row home today to investigate possible pipe bombs.

Philadelphia Police didn’t have many details about the case except to say that they were investigating a home on the 6100 block of Oxford Avenue in the Oxford Circle section of Northeast Philadelphia.

tow other surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution.

As SkyForce10 hovered overhead a bomb-detecting robot could be seen behind the row of homes. Police and fire vehilces also had the street blocked off.

A man was later arrested for allegedly keeping pipe bombs inside his home.

Michael Beer was arrested at 10 p.m. on Thursday night in Rosetto, Northampton County, Pa., ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anthony Tropea said.

Beer allegedly kept six pipe bombs inside the home.
