Firefighters in Trenton, N.J., have rescued a homeless man who was buried by debris when a boarded-up house partly collapsed.
Fire officials say the roof and a wall of the abandoned three-story building came crashing down early Thursday.
They say the homeless man had been sleeping on the porch. It took them several hours to get him out.
Fire Chief David Turner tells The Times of Trenton the man was severely injured but his condition was not known.
Turner says the house, surrounded by vacant lots, was being used by squatters even though it was marked as hazardous.
The city brought in heavy equipment to pull away rubble before searching for other possible victims. No one else was found.
The building was then demolished.
