Camden's Reputed Bloods Gang Leader Gets 12 Years in Prison

The reputed leader of the Camden set of the Bloods street gang has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for dealing heroin.

Authorities say 40-year-old Tyrone Tyson Sr. pleaded guilty in October on drug charges and was sentenced in federal court Friday.

The Camden man had previously been convicted of manslaughter and admitted that he controlled the gang known as the "Fruit Town Brims.'' Prosecutors say he was released in August 2013 and sold heroin to an undercover agent twice in September of that year.

Defense lawyer Scott Cohen says Tyson was facing more prison time, so they were happy he got a more lenient sentence from the judge.
