‘Birthday Sex' Singer Jeremih Arrested at Newark Airport

A popular R&B singer was arrested Friday at Newark Airport after authorities say he attempted to illegally board a plane despite having missed the boarding call.

According to Port Authority police, a member of Jeremih Felton's entourage, who was already on the U.S. Airways flight to Phoenix, opened the closed jet way door to allow the singer and another man onto the plane.

Felton, a 27-year-old Def Jam Recordings artist best known for his hit single "Birthday Sex," and his associate were charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of law, officials said.

Dontate Cunningham, the man who allegedly opened the door for Felton, was also arrested and charged with defiant trespass.

The men were being held by Port Authority police Friday evening, but were expected to be released barring any outstanding warrants.

Felton's most recent single "Don't Tell Em" peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
