Bicyclist Cited in Accident with Police Car

The accident happened late Thursday in Vineland, N.J.

A bicyclist collided with a police car on East Landis Avenue, near Howard Street in Vineland, Cumberland County late Thursday night.

Jeffrey Peyton, 47, of Vineland was riding his bike on the sidewalk, when he went down a driveway and into the road, according to Vineland Police. He hit the side of the police car and suffered minor injuries.

Police say the Officer tried to swerve to avoid the biker. Peyton was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

He was given a summons for failure to keep right, no lights or reflectors on bike or audible signals on bicycle.
