As if a wolf roaming around wasn’t strange enough, another wild animal somehow found its way into the area.

On Monday, around 6:45 p.m., Bethlehem Police responded to a report from the 1400 block of Schoenersville Road from a man who claimed to have caught an alligator.

When they arrived that they found the man holding the 3-foot-long, American alligator.

The officers quickly secured the reptile with a dog harness and taped its mouth shut.

The alligator was then transported to a Juvenile Holding area at the Bethlehem Police Department headquarters.

Authorities contacted an exotic animal handler who is currently helping the alligator to recover.

If anyone has any information on where the animal came from, please contact the Bethlehem Police Department at 610.865.7187 or Investigations at 610.997.7672
