Bethlehem Man Charged With Having Sex With a Dog

The man's hearing was postponed so that police can continue their investigation.

A local man was charged with having sex with a dog back in October and now his preliminary hearing is being postponed so that police can continue investigating the incident, according to The Morning Call.

Police say that Juan Carlos Sanabria-Hernandez, 26, had sex with a Shih Tzu on October 21, 2012 in Allentown. The pooch's owner, Angela Rivera, called authorities after noticing her dog acting oddly and bleeding, reports The Morning Call.

Rivera says Sanabria-Hernandez admitted to having sexual intercourse with the Shih Tzu and police say he also admitted the same to them, according to court records obtained by The Call.

The suspect's attorney claims that his client suffers from mental health problems.

Sanabria-Hernandez was scheduled for court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing, however, that hearing has been postponed.

The reason for the continuance, according to the paper, is for police to continue their investigation.

Sanabria-Hernandez is charged with having sexual intercourse with an animal and animal cruelty.

A new court date has not yet been set.
