Philadelphia Boys Choir Conductor and Assistant Conductor for the Philly Pops Jeff Smith talks about the best gifts he’s ever given and received:

The Best Gift I Ever Gave:  Humor Can Heal

There was a clever gift I gave one time. I gave it to a friend of mine and it was about something stupid that I did without thinking.

I was apologizing, and so I gave a basket of “fix-it” things. A screwdriver, Band-Aids, white-out, tape, things saying, “I hope this can fix the mistake that I made.” It wasn’t a great gift, but it was stuff you can use, you know?

The Best Gift I Ever Received: "You don’t really understand how much you can love somebody until you have kids"

The best gift I’ve ever been given would be both my children. They are the best thing in my life.

You don’t really understand how much you can love somebody until you have kids. You can love many people in many different ways, and that love can be very strong but when they’re your own children there’s just something unexplainable about it. As much as they can drive you nuts sometimes, it doesn’t matter. There are times when you’re just blown away by what God has done through them, it’s just amazing.
