Tropical Storm Bertha won't hit the US, but local beachgoers will still feel its effects due to dangerous rip currents. NBC10's Christine Maddela has the details. (Published Tuesday, Aug 5, 2014)

Swimmers are urged to be cautious at New Jersey beaches.

The National Weather Service says there's a moderate risk of rip currents through Wednesday because of Tropical Storm Bertha. Bertha is creating long-period swells as it moves northward in the Atlantic, posing no direct threat to the U.S. East Coast.

A woman was found dead off an Atlantic City beach after lifeguards had gone off duty on Monday night.
