Berks County Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

Walls was killed while serving America in Operation Enduring Freedom.

A Berks County soldier was killed in Afghanistan Saturday.

Army Cpt. Jonathan Walls of West Lawn, Pa. was killed along with two other soldiers when their patrol was attacked with improvised explosive devices and rocket-propelled grenades, the Department of Defense confirmed.

The soldiers were patrolling in Mushan Village when the attack happened.

Walls, 27, was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division out of Fort Carson, Colo.
