Police Arrest Alleged Wawa Carjacker

Police arrested a man accused of trying to carjack drivers at a Bucks County Wawa in two separate incidents.

Amir Saunders, 22, is charged with kidnapping, robbery of a motor vehicle and other related offenses.

Police say Saunders, who is homeless, tried to carjack a woman after she fueled up at a Bucks County Wawa Sunday night.

The caught-on-camera incident played out at the convenience store on Route 1 near Benjamin Rush State Park in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania around 6:20 p.m.

Saunders could be seen lurking around the gas pumps before he forced his way into a woman’s car, put his hand over her mouth and told her to keep quiet as he tried to get behind the wheel, said Bensalem Township Police.

The victim fought back and sounded her horn causing Saunders to run off into the Neshaminy Interplex commercial park as multiple witnesses tried to chase him down, said investigators.

Investigators also believe Saunders carjacked a male victim at the same Wawa back on Dec. 30 and then forced him at knifepoint to drive to various ATMs in Philly where he made him take out cash.

Saunders was arraigned and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of $750,000 bail, 10%.
