A bear sighting kept students inside all day Thursday at a Montgomery County elementary school.
An NBC10 viewer took pictures of the bear as it walked through his yard along Long Mill Road in Franconia Township.
Two elementary schools are nearby, Salford Hills Elementary and Vernfield Elementary.
NBC10 obtained an email sent to parents from Salford Hills Elementary Principal David Purnell. Purnell explained that as a precaution students were not allowed outside for recess on Thursday.
There's no word on wheather Vernfield Elementary took any extra precautions.
The Pa. Game Commission is investigating the bear sighting.
