Call About Barking Dogs at New Jersey Home Leads Police to 117 Bags of Heroin

A disturbance call in South Jersey led to a drug bust that included 117 bags of heroin, multiple pieces of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Members of Manchester Township Police made the discovery when they responded a home on Housen Street in the Summit Park section of the Township Wednesday. Upon arriving at the house in question, they found multiple dogs acting aggressively, which appeared to be the reason for the call.

While at the house, three officers found Bowen Stephenson, 22, hiding in one of the bedrooms, said police.

The police spoke with Stephenson and determined he had provided officers with false information in order to avoid being arrested. The officers also observed several doses of heroin and a syringe, leading them to further search the home.

Stephenson was arrested on multiple drug charges and sent to Ocean County jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
