Manslaughter Charge for Jersey Shore Mom Who Allegedly Rolled Over Baby While High

Authorities say a mother accused of rolling over her baby daughter while high on drugs is now charged with aggravated manslaughter because she allegedly gave the child methadone.

Atlantic County prosecutors filed the new charge Tuesday against Lisa Scalia.

The 32-year-old Ventnor woman was charged with child endangerment and drug possession after her daughter was found unresponsive in her home in January. The child died several days later at a hospital

Scalia faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on the aggravated manslaughter count. She was served with the charge at the county jail, where she has been held since her arrest.

It's not known if Scalia has retained an attorney. A judge set her bail on the new charge at $100,000 cash.
