Philadelphia police are searching for a man they say tried to carjack a woman in the Holmesburg section of the city on Friday morning.
The victim tells police that she was getting into her car near her home on the 7400 block of Jackson St. just before 7 a.m. when she was approached by a man wanting to take her car.
In an attempt to get away from the suspect, the woman began driving, according to the police. The man then fired a shot, hitting the victim in the hip.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital where she is in stable condition.
Police say the suspect is a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants with a white stripe.
