Arrest in Caught on Cam Condo Garage Robberies

Same man could be behind string of recent robberies, cops say

On Monday Philadelphia Police announced the arrest of the man believed to be behind at least three robberies inside a South Philadelphia condo parking garage.

Poncho Spicer is expected to be charged with robbery and related offenses in connection to robberies that happened in the Marine Club Condominiums elevated parking garage located at 1100 S Broad Street, according to police.

Surveillance video was released last week in a hope of capturing the suspect who in at least two cases pushed the victim back into their car and in another incident used a knife, police said.

Police thanks the public and media for info that lead to Spicer's arrest.

Cops say the first incident happened on Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. when the suspect pushed a woman back into her car and demanded money. The woman was able to fight off the alleged attacker and he made off with nothing, police said.

Police say that on Dec. 11 around 11 p.m. a man approached a person behind with knife and demanded money. The alleged attacker made off with $60 cash and the victim’s laptop, cops said.

And on Jan. 12 around 7 p.m. police say Spicer waited in the garage before approaching a woman as she was leaving her car. He pushed her back inside before making off with $100, cops said.

In each case the alleged robber fled on foot, cops said.
