Armed Suspect Targets Maple Shade Business: Cops

Police are on the hunt for a man who they say robbed the Goodwill Industries building in Maple Shade.

Police are on the hunt for a man who they say robbed a business in Maple Shade. It happened Wednesday around 9:15 p.m. at the Goodwill Industries building at 2835 Route 73 South.

Police say the man was armed with a machete in one hand and a black handgun in the other. The business had just closed to the public for the day and the employees were finishing the end of their shifts in the office at the time of the robbery, according to investigators.

The suspect allegedly ordered three female employees to the corner of the office and then stole an unknown amount of money from the day’s receipts. Police say he then fled on foot through the back of the building and into a wooded area. No one was injured during the incident.

Maple Shade Police conducted a search of the area but did not find the suspect. The suspect is described as a medium built man of an unknown race, standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10. He was last seen wearing a red baseball cap with an unknown white logo, black ski mask, white gloves, a red hooded sweatshirt with white lettering across the chest, black shirt underneath and red nylon sweatpants with black and white stripes along the legs.
