Armed Robbers Steal Drugs From Pharmacy

The men forced the pharmacist to give them 100 bottles of drugs

Philadelphia Police say three men wearing ski masks stormed into a pharmacy earlier tonight and put a gun to the security guard's head.

The robbery happened just before 7:00 p.m at Oxford Circle Pharmacy, located at 1501 Cheltenham Avenue in Frankford.

"They threatened to shoot him in the head if he didn't give up his gun," said Chief Inspector Scott Small, who says the robbers swiped the guard's gun.

The men then forced the pharmacist to give them 100 bottles of drugs, including morphine and oxycodone, according to police.

Mike Daly and his brother work at the family-run pharmacy and tell NBC10's Nefertiti Jaquez  that they were outside and saw the three men run into the store.

When they realized the pharmacy was being robbed, Daly says they ran across the street to another business to call 911.

Police arrived quickly, but the men were already gone.

Daly says he is grateful no one was hurt.
