Armed Robbers Impersonate Utility Workers, Assault Woman in South Philadelphia Home

A duo of armed robbers posed as utility workers and burst into a home in South Philadelphia's Point Breeze neighborhood early Sunday, police said.

Investigators said the men, both of whom were armed with guns, forced their way into the house, on Mole Street near Ellsworth, about 8:30 a.m.

Once inside, they assaulted a 39-year-old woman, police said. The robbers did not take anything before they fled, according to police.

The woman suffered lacerations to her forehead and was treated at Methodist Hospital.

Police described one of the suspects as a tall, thin man with a dark complexion and a goatee. He wore all black at the time of the home-invasion. The second suspect was described as having a muscular build and wearing a dark-blue puffy vest. Both suspects are believed to be in their 20s or 30s.
