An out-of-control taxicab crashed into a Main Line gym this morning.

The Maxwell cab driver lost control of his cab in a lot along Cricket Avenue near Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore, Pa. around 7 a.m. Friday.

The crash caused a light pole to come down in a lot behind the Philadelphia Sports Club gym.

Injuries appeared to be minor, according to Montgomery County Dispatchers.

Witnesses on the scene told NBC10.com that the cabbie claimed he put the car into gear and it just took off. The impact of the wreck left the front end of the taxi crumpled.

Since the crash happened in a parking lot it isn’t expected to have a major impact on traffic in the area.
