Andy Reid Takes Another Blame Bullet

After his seventh straight loss last night to the Carolina Panthers Eagles Head Coach Andy Reid gave his broken record response in his post-game news conference on Tuesday.

"My responsibility is to get this team to play better and we have not done that here to this point." Reid promised to do better to get the team in a position to win games.

He said the players are all smart and hard workers and they'll learn from the mistakes on the field and that the coaching team has to get three things right: communication, teaching methods and explaining processes to players. One of the reporters asked Reid if the players just weren't getting it and he said "No" as emphatically as Reid says anything and took another blame bullet.

"I'm going to take full responsibility. There's a way to get through and I'm not doing that right now."

The big plays and turnovers are the issues, Reid said, and in defense of his players he said it's not that anyone lacks character or isn't trying hard enough.

"We're just not getting it done right now. There's a fine line between winning and losing in the National Football League and the only thing you can do is keep pushing harder," Reid said.

Was getting rid of Juan Castillo a mistake?

"I said this before. I think Juan Castillo is a heck of a football coach. I think Todd's a good coach. We just have to make sure that we're getting our point across. Right now it's not good enough."

The Eagles face the Cowboys in Dallas on Sunday night and Reid said that's as far as he looks into the future after any game.

"I'm coaching to get ready for the Cowboys."

Injury Notes:

DeSean Jackson fractured a couple of his ribs and he's on the injured reserved list as of today.

LeSean McCoy is still out with a concussion.

Quarterback Mike Vick has not passed the test that would allow him to get back in the game after his concussion. He took it yesterday.
