Amazon Hiring Hundreds in Allentown

Company named “most admired” by Fortune Magazine hiring full-time employees

In a time of layoffs and unemployment, Allentown-area residents get some good news: Amazon.com will be hiring hundreds for its Breinigsville center.

Amazon.com announced Thursday that they will be filling several hundred full-time positions that will come with extensive health care benefits and a 401K plan, reports the Times Leader.

“We’re excited to be hiring for hundreds of additional jobs at Amazon’s fulfillment centers in Pennsylvania this summer,” Dave Clark, vice president, Amazon North American Operations, told the Times Leader.

The benefits for the full-time jobs include company-paid life insurance, disability insurance, paid vacation and annual stock grants.

To apply for one of these positions go to www.amazonapplyonlineallentown.com or call 484-809-7716 for more information.

Fortune Magazine names Amazon one of the best “people management” companies for 2011. Consumers also give Amazon kudos for being the “most reputable company in the U.S.” in a survey by the Reputation Institute this year, reports the Times Leader.

“We’re committed to growth in Pennsylvania because Governor Corbett and other state officials have demonstrated their commitment to Amazon jobs and investment,” Clark said.
