Fire at Popular Tex-Mex Restaurant

Fire broke out in a popular restaurant overnight leaving damage to the exterior and kitchen.

A fire began at the Adobe Café Restaurant on the 4500 block of Mitchell Street in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, Pa. around 5:20 a.m., according to firefighters.

It appeared the blaze began in the kitchen.

It only took around 25 minutes to bring the blaze at the Southwestern-style restaurant under control, firefighters said.

No one was injured.

It’s still unclear when the restaurant will reopen. Firefighters broke out windows and broke the front door while battling the blaze.

Adobe Café has two locations (the other is on E. Passyunk Avenue in south Philly). The restaurant’s menu includes Tex-Mex favorites like tacos and burritos as well as margaritas.
