Making NoLibs a Safer Place

A partnership between businesses and residents would use ad revenue to make NoLibs safer.

Northern Liberties could get a little bit safer with the help of advertising, reports Philebrity.com.

Robert Capella, a member of the Democratic City Committee, proposed a public/private partnership between businesses and NoLibs residents.

Capella created the online petition to get approval for the owners of the Callowhill Center on 421 North 7th Street to lease their building for advertising.

The additional revenue would be used to make the neighborhood a safer place.

Northern Liberties is a neighborhood to be proud of, and we need to make sure it is safer and more secure so that we can continue to grow and prosper. Our quality of life and our safety should not be in jeopardy as a result of where we live," according to Safernorthernliberties.com.

The monies raised will be used for lighted sidewalks, emergency call boxes, safety cameras, a mini and mobile police station, residential lighting and town watch groups, reports the Website.
