Abduction Hoax Mom Stuck in Prison

Prison officials won’t release Sweeten because of infraction

Bonnie Sweeten, the woman who faked the kidnapping of her and her 9-year-old daughter before being tracked down at Disney World was supposed to get out of prison this weekend.

Bucks County Prison put the kibosh on her Saturday release.

Sweeten, 38, will remain in Bucks County Prison despite a court’s December decision to allow the Feasterville resident to serve the rest of her sentence under house arrest.

Prison officials decided she's not ready to be released because of “inappropriate behavior.” Sweeten’s lawyer, Louis Busico, told the Daily News it was “alleged misconduct, nothing criminal.”

Busico said Wednesday he doesn't plan to challenge the decision.

Sweeten was sentenced to nine to 23 months in prison in August after pleading guilty to identity theft and filing a false police report. She admitted to dialing 911 in May and claiming she and her daughter had been kidnapped by two black men before flying to Florida using stolen identification.
