Police Cancel AMBER ALERT, Girl Found Safe in New Jersey

UPDATE: The girl has been safely located, said Virginia State Police.

Authorities issued arrest warrants for her father, Dylan Richardson, and her grandmother, Jacqueline McKenna. Police said Dylan Richardson -- who grew up in Glassboro, New Jersey -- brought the child to the Monroe Township police station just after 5 a.m. Tuesday and turned himself in.

Police said the girl appeared in good health and was unaware of the incident.

The grandmother was apprehended in Glassboro and the girl was placed with family members, said police.

Richardson and McKenna were charged as fugitives from justice. It's not known if they have lawyers and are awaiting extradition.


Police say a man accused of abducting a 4-year-old girl in Virginia may be headed to New Jersey.

Virginia State Police and the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office activated a Virginia Amber Alert for a 4-year-old girl Monday. Police say the girl was last seen with Dylan James Richardson, 24, at 400 Thomas Jefferson Highway in Charlotte Court House, Virginia.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the girl was abducted on Nov. 9 or 10, but didn't meet the criteria for an Amber Alert until Monday.

They said Richardson was possibly headed to New Jersey though they did not say where in the state specifically.
