May 17, 2012: The body of 23-year-old Siddiqah Bryant was found inside this minivan in Atlantic City. The young mother was strangled.

A man pleaded guilty yesterday to strangling a woman in an Atlantic City motel room last year.

Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced Thursday that David Williams, 48, admitted to aggravated manslaughter in the death of 23-year-old Siddiqah Bryant.

Bryant's body was found inside her minivan behind the Atlantic City Bus Terminal on May 17, 2102.

Prosecutors said an autopsy determined that the young mother was strangled.

In late July, 2012, police in Sinton, Texas arrested Williams and later sent him back to New Jersey to face murder charges.

During Wednesday's plea, Williams admitted that he strangled Bryant using a telephone cord during a fight inside a city motel room. He then said he placed her body in the van and abandoned the vehicle behind the bus terminal before fleeing for Texas.

Williams is expected to be sentenced to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced in January. As part of the plea agreement, Williams must serve at least 85 percent (21 years and 3 months) of his sentence before he will be eligible for parole.
