Accidental Shooting Injures 9-Year-Old Boy

Criminal charges have been filed against the father, sister and brother-in-law of a 9-year-old boy critically injured in an accidental shooting at a Pennsylvania home.

Jose Rentas and Elaine Key were scheduled to be arraigned Friday on charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, risking catastrophe and conspiracy.

Key's husband, Samoad Anyea Key, is charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution, carrying a firearm without a license and tampering with evidence.

Online court records didn't list lawyers who could comment on the charges. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for next Thursday.

Police say the 46-year-old Rentas, 25-year-old Key and her 30-year-old husband were test firing a gun in the basement of a Lancaster home when a bullet went through a door and struck the boy as he played in a front yard.
