Nutter Wants Felton Supper Club Shut Down

Nine people were shot early Sunday outside of a club in Feltonville. All nine survived.

Nine people were shot early Sunday morning outside the Felton Supper Club in the Feltonville section of the city, according to police.

The incident happened just before 3 a.m. on the 4800 block of Rising Sun Avenue. Five females, aged 19 to 35, and four males, aged 22 to 28, were shot and wounded on a sidewalk.

One person was listed in critical condition. Eight others are listed in stable condition.

"This could gave been a mass murder out here given the number of rounds fired at the nine people hit," Deputy Commissioner Richard Ross said.

Police are searching for two suspects in the shooting. A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrests.

The club had been closed since January and just reopened last week. Police say it has a history of violence including the first homicide of the year.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter called the club a nuisance and vows to shut it down.

"It is my goal that this place will not open," Mayor Nutter said. "We are seeking revocation of every license they have and any other license they have, we will fight them in court."
