7th Alleged Conlin Victim Comes Forward

Another alleged victim, this time an anonymous woman, is accusing former Daily News sports writer Bill Conlin of sexual abuse.

A 7th person is accusing Hall of Fame baseball writer and former Philadelphia Daily News columnist Bill Conlin of sexual abuse, according to the Inquirer.

The Inquirer reports the woman claims that Conlin assaulted her when she was 11-years-old back in the 1960s at the beach in Margate, New Jersey.

The woman told the Inquirer that she was speaking out now because reading the stories of Conlin’s other alleged victims gave her courage.

Conlin, 77, retired from the Daily News on Tuesday, hours before the Inquirer published an article detailing allegations from four alleged victims that Conlin sexually abused them in the 1970s. Both an anonymous woman and Linda Stella, 50, came forward with abuse claims on Wednesday, also claiming sexual abuse in the 70s.

The latest alleged victim said she was a family friend of Conlin’s, according to the Inquirer. The paper reports that she accused Conlin of assaulting her twice while he visited the Jersey Shore where her family had a house.

The woman claims Conlin reached his hand inside her bathing suit and touched her while she was lying on a surfboard. She also says Conlin touched her genitals and put a finger inside of her while she was showering in her bathing suit, according to the Inquirer.

No criminal charges have been filed against Conlin since the statute of limitations on the alleged crimes have expired.

Conlin continues to deny the allegations and has vowed to clear his name.
