New Castle County police have charged a teen with assaulting and robbing a 70-year-old maintenance worker at a New Castle-area community center and they are looking for a second teen suspect.
The man who works at Rose Hill Community Center was taken to a hospital with head injuries after the Wednesday afternoon attack.
Officer John Weglarz Sr. says he cannot discuss specifics of the assault because of the ongoing investigation. But he says the man was treated and released.
Police have charged 19-year-old Lyndon Johnson of Oakmont with robbery, assault, possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony and conspiracy. He's being held on $76,000 bail. Weglarz says warrants are on file charging a 17-year-old Oakmont resident with similar offenses.
