Despite library closures, budget squabbles and casino disagreements, most Philadelphians still view Mayor Michael Nutter favorably, according to a new Pew survey.

The study was released Thursday as part of the Philadelphia Research Initiative. The study also polled the opinions of Philadelphians on issues dealing with the fiscal state of the city and general perception of Philly.

Let's just focus on the impression being made by Mayor Nutter.

It turns out that even though some residents are steamed over budget cuts that most still have a favorable viewpoint of Nutter. 29 percent view Nutter "very favorably" -- another 42 percent have a somewhat favorable impression of the mayor.

Add it up -- 71 percent of people have at least a somewhat positive viewpoint of Nutter.

Only 23 percent of respondents gave Nutter a "somewhat" or "very" unfavorable mark. (Six percent gave no opinion.)

Things change a bit when giving a letter grade. 46 percent of residents gave Nutter an 'A' or 'B' and another 29 percent gave him a 'C'

Overall only 21 percent of residents give Nutter a negative 'D' of 'F' grade.

The survey took place last month and asked questions to a random sample of 1,600 adults in Philadelphia.

Now the question remains -- how do you feel about the job Nutter is doing as mayor? Share your opinion below.
