7 Hurt After Deck Collapse During Engagement Party

A night of celebration ended abruptly after a deck collapsed during a party in Concord, Pennsylvania.

Police say an engagement party was being held at a home on 68 Colonial Circle Saturday night.

At least 30 people were standing on a 25-year-old deck about eight feet off the ground when it suddenly collapsed, according to officials.

"Five or six ambulances were dispatched to the scene," Concordville Fire Chief Tom Nelling said. "Seven people were transported to local hospitals for minor injuries. Nothing serious."

The area of the collapse is currently roped off and the Concord Township Code Enforcement will inspect the scene.

The victims were taken to Riddle Hospital, Chester County Hospital and the Crozer-Chester Medical Center. No one was seriously injured.
