A 60-year-old New Jersey woman, who bred Yorkshire Terriers to supplement her perhaps waning career as a prostitute, was arrested on charges of solicitation last week.
Police launched an investigation in January into reports that Babette Massaro of the 3700 block of Conley Drive was running a solo prostitution business from her Vineland home, reports the Courier Post.
Reports that “a variety of men” were seen coming and going from her home inspired police to set up surveillance and question a man they saw leaving Massaro’s house.
Police discovered that Massaro advertised her services in the classified section of an Atlantic City weekly paper. An undercover officer answered the ad and contacted Massaro by phone, reports the Courier Post.
When the officer arrived at the house, Massaro offered him a sexual service for several hundred dollars and he promptly arrested the 60-year-old woman.
Massaro told police that because of financial problems, she was also breeding Yorkies for additional income, according to the Post.
