6-Year-Old Opens Door to Home Invaders: Police

When the child answered the door, three men ran inside the home, according to police

A 6-year-old boy opened the door to his family's house to find three men armed with at least one gun, police said.

Authorities say it happened just after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, on the 9300 block of Jamison Avenue, in the Bustleton section of Northeast Philadelphia.

Detectives say the men knocked the young boy over as they ran into the house and pistol-whipped his father, police said.

The man, who allegedly wasn't wearing any clothes when the intruders entered his home, struggled with one of the suspects for the gun and was able to fire a few shots, according to authorities. The three suspects ran off.

His wife and two children were not hurt.
