5th Alleged Conlin Victim Comes Forward

Another woman says Bill Conlin abused her when she was a child

A fifth person is now saying she was sexually assaulted by former Philadelphia Daily News columnist Bill Conlin.

The unidentified woman told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Conlin repeatedly abused her when she was about 7-years-old and lived in Washington Township, Gloucester County. The woman says she was a childhood friend of Conlin's son, Peter.

Conlin retired from the Daily News Tuesday -- just hours before the Inquirer published an article detailing allegations from three women and a man who said he abused them in the 1970’s.

Their stories match allegations described by the woman who came forward Wednesday.

This latest accuser told the Inquirer that Conlin groped and fondled her in his living room and, on another occasion, allegedly assaulted her in an upstairs bedroom. The 44-year-old mother of three also claims Conlin touched her genitals twice and put his fingers inside her.

The Inquirer is reporting that the alleged assaults ended when the woman’s mother told her father and he confronted Conlin.

"I just remember my mom holding my dad back,” the woman told the Inquirer “and two of them [Conlin and her father] screaming at each other.”

Conlin released a statement through his lawyer, George Bochetto, stating that he was "floored" by the allegations and vowed to clear his name.
