5-Year-Old Boy Dies After Tree Falls on Him in Montgomery County

Cops say the boy was walking with his family in Upper Providence when a tree suddenly fell on him

Police say a 5-year-old Collegeville boy was killed after a tree fell on top of him in Upper Providence Thursday night.

Police say around 5 p.m. the boy was walking with his mother and brother in a wooded area east of Larchwood Court, on the property of the Perkiomen Woods Development, when a tree suddenly fell.

The child was transported to the Phoenixville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are not releasing the child’s identity at this time.

No word yet on what caused the tree to fall.
