2 Teens, 2 Adults Hurt in Multi-Car Crash

Two helicopters were called to the scene for serious injuries.

Two teens and two adults are in the hospital after a car accident involving three vehicles in Williamstown, N.J.

Police say a 17-year-old boy was driving a 1995 BMW eastbound on New Brooklyn Road and approaching the intersection with Jones Road. A 2001 Honda Accord driven by a 35-year-old man was traveling west on the same road and approaching the same intersection, according to investigators. Finally, police say a 52-year-old man, driving a 2007 Toyota Highlander, stopped at a stop sign on Jones Road at the intersection with New Brooklyn Road.

As the BMW and Honda approached the intersection, police say the BMW attempted a left turn onto Jones Road, entering the right of way of the Honda Accord. The front of the BMW then struck the Honda, according to police. Police say the impact caused the Honda to move to its right, striking the front end of the Toyota.

Police say the 35-year-old male driver of the Honda was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency crews. He was then airlifted to Cooper Trauma Center and treated for multiple serious injuries. A 45-year-old female passenger of the Honda was taken to Kennedy Hospital and treated for neck and leg injuries.

The 17-year-old driver of the BMW was taken to Kennedy Hospital and treated for minor injuries. Finally, police say his 16-year-old female passenger was airlifted to Cooper Trauma Center for serious lower body injuries.

Police will not release the names of the victims until all family members are notified. The Monroe Township Police Department Safety Bureau is currently investigating the crash. They say charges are pending completion of the investigation.
