5 People Shot After Philadelphia Block Party

Police officers heard shots fired one block away as they were breaking up the party near 39th and Melon streets.

Gunfire left five people wounded as a block party was ending in Philadelphia's Mantua section Sunday night.

Police officers heard shots fired one block away as they were breaking up the party near 39th and Melon streets. They raced to the scene and found three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Five victims were taken to a nearby hospital. Four are in stable condition but one person is in critical condition.

More than 30 shell casing were recovered at the scene, Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

No arrests have been made.
