5 Injured in Apartment Fire

Three residents and two firefighters were injured during a fire in a Gloucester Township apartment complex.

Authorities are investigating a Gloucester Township fire that severely damaged two apartments and displaced three families.

It happened Sunday around 2:30 p.m. in the 600 building of the Millbridge Apartments.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and saw heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the apartment complex. Residents of the building had been evacuated before crews arrived.

Police say three residents suffered smoke inhalation while two firefighters suffered minor burns. All three residents and one firefighter were taken to the hospital, treated and released. The second firefighter was treated at the scene.

While crews were able to control the fire, authorities say three families were displaced. They received assistance from the Camden County Red Cross.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
