5 Give Money to Robbers, All Shot Anyway

The robbers shot five men sitting on a porch early Friday morning.

Five people sitting on a porch in Hunting Park early Friday were robbed by two masked men. Then the masked men shot all five men.

The five victims were sitting on a porch on the 4000 block of North Broad Street at about 3:15 a.m. when the two masked men, one with a revolver, told them to take off their shoes and lie down on the porch, according to police.

The two men robbed the five men and then shot them all afterwards.  Four of the men were shot in the back and one was shot in the leg.

β€œIt just goes to show how brazen some of these criminals are out here,” Chief Inspector Scott Small tells NBC Philadelphia.

The gun that was used must have been defective of the ammunition was weak because all of the gunshot victims had none-life-threatening wounds, Small says.

The five men, ranging in age from23 to 32, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Four children ages one to 10 sleeping inside the house, police say.
