Firefighters rushed to the scene of a blaze in a Frankford home, where five people managed to escape to safety early Friday morning.
Crews responded to a call of of heavy smoke and flames at a house on the 1700 block of Bridge Street around 1:30 a.m., officials said.
The fire broke out in the kitchen and crews were able to get the blaze under control before it damaged any other neighboring homes, authorities said.
All five residents were able to get outside safely.
One firefighter received treatment at the scene for exhaustion, according to crews at the scene.
No word yet on how the fire got started.
