Police say four Gwynedd-Mercy College students were injured in a car crash near the campus early Saturday morning.

Police tell NBC10 a car hit a tree at Sumneytown Pike and Stonebridge Road shortly before 3 a.m. Two people were taken to Abington Memorial Hospital and are in critical condition. Two others were taken to Lansdale Hospital.

A communications specialist with Gwynedd-Mercy tells NBC10 two of the students were treated and released from the hospital. The specialist also says that two of the students remain hospitalized but that "so far the outlook is positive."

The accident is under investigation.
