3-Year-Old Girl Drowns at Delco Swim Club

A 3-year-old girl is dead after drowning in a Delaware County swimming pool.

The incident happened at the St. Alban’s Swim Club in Newtown Square on Saturday. Police arrived at the scene shortly before 5 p.m. after receiving a report of an unconscious 3-year-old girl.

When they arrived, lifeguards were performing CPR on the girl but to no avail. She was taken to Bryn Mawr hospital where she was pronounced dead at 5:40 p.m.

An autopsy report on Sunday confirmed that drowning was the cause of death.

Investigators also ruled the death an accident, claiming that the girl drowned in the middle of the pool at a depth of three to four feet.
