3 People Hurt, Driver Charged in New Jersey Crash

Three people were hospitalized after a car driven by an alleged drunken driver struck a utility pole on a central New Jersey roadway.

Ewing police tell The Times of Trenton that the single-car crash on Bear Tavern Road occurred around 4:15 a.m. Saturday.

The driver, 19-year-old Sarah Fisher, of Ewing, and two adult passengers all suffered undisclosed injuries and were taken to the hospital. But further details on their conditions were not disclosed.

One of the passengers was briefly trapped inside the car because live power lines were lying across the car.

Fisher was charged with drunken driving and drunken driving while underage. She also received three motor vehicle citations.

A telephone number for Fisher could not be located Saturday night.
