3 Killed in Violent Weekend in Philadelphia

Several others were injured in separate shootings and stabbings across the city including a 7-month-old baby boy

Police say shootings claimed several lives and critically injured others in Philadelphia over the weekend.

A 24-year-old man was shot in the head while sitting inside his car outside the V.I.P. Night Club in the Tioga Section of the city around 2:35 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 2:46 a.m. Police are searching for the gunman.

A 31-year-old man was found on a Center City sidewalk at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday with a gunshot wound to his left side. He later died at Einstein Medical Center.

A man found shot to death in the driver's seat of a car shortly after 5 p.m. Friday in southwest Philadelphia was identified as 44-year-old Vernon Freeman.

Two men are in stable condition after they were shot around 11 p.m. last night at West Clearfield and North Sheridan Streets.

An 18-year-old woman stabbed multiple times in north Philadelphia was also critically injured.

Police arrested and charged a father in the stabbing of his 7-month-old baby son. The child is currently in critical condition with a stab wound to the head.
