Police say one person was inside a yellow Hummer and eight people were in a station wagon. 13-year-old Joaquin DeJesus, Jr. and 7-year-old Samara Ramos - both passengers in the wagon - were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 9 year-old boy and 5-year-old girl were also injured. Both drivers and two other adults in the wagon were all treated for undisclosed injuries, none of which were considered life-threatening.
