2nd Suspect Arrested in Deadly Home Invasion

Police say Sean Johnson was arrested in Virginia

The second suspect wanted in the shooting death of an elderly man during a home invasion is now in custody. Police say Sean Johnson, 18, was arrested Wednesday in Virginia by U.S. Marshals.

Investigators say on the afternoon of May 17, 80-year-old Joseph Fleming was inside his home on the 6600 block of Yocum Street in Southwest Philadelphia when he heard a noise in the basement.

Police say when he went into the basement to investigate, Fleming was shot twice by two intruders. He died on June 22 from those injuries.

Johnson was arrested shortly after the deadly home invasion, but escaped police custody on May 26. Johnson is charged with murder, burglary, robbery, conspiracy and related charges.

Aaron Pitts, 20, of Kingsessing, is also facing charges for his involvement in this crime, including murder, robbery, burglary, theft and weapons charges.
