Penn State's student-run Interfraternity Council suspended a second fraternity in an investigation into the death of a student found in a campus stairwell.

Alpha Tau Omega was one of two fraternities visited by 18-year-old freshman Joseph Dado the night he died, officials said. Dado was found dead early Sept. 20 after falling onto a concrete stairwell about 75 yards from Phi Gamma Delta, the other fraternity he was at that night.

A coroner ruled Dado’s death an accident, but police were still investigating whether anyone provided Dado with alcohol.

The suspensions were standard procedure when fraternities were the subject of an investigation, Interfraternity Council president Luke Pierce said.
