200 Evacuated From Apt. Complex

Officials say a transformer blew, knocking out power to the building

Residents at Copley Manor Apartments on the 100 block of W. Tulpehocken Street in Germantown were evacuated late Tuesday after a power outage.

Fire officials on the scene tell NBC10 a transformer blew, disabling power to the building.

200 people had to leave the building. The Red Cross assisted a handful of residents at Germantown High School, but the majority of residents had someplace else to go.

Power was restored just before 4:00 a.m. Wednesday and residents were allowed to return home.
